How Does Minus33 Fit?

Our most common fit is called regular. It runs true to size and isn’t that super tight sport fit you might find with synthetic brands. It’s for the everyday person, every activity or occupation. We suggest purchasing the same size you would get in a basic cotton T-shirt or underwear.

What If I Am Between Sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up. How to Measure

Chest: Measure the circumference around the fullest part of your chest, underneath the arms.

Waist: Measure the circumference around the natural waist, near the belly button.

Sleeve: Measure from your center back neck, to the elbow, to the wrist.

Shirt Length: This measurement refers to the approximate size of the shirt back length, from the neck to the bottom hem.

Inseam: Measure from the center of the crotch to the end of the ankle.

Fits best as: Base Layer

Skin tight, slim, compression style fit. Wear this layer first and add on top of it if needed.

Fits best as: Base Layer, Mid Layer

True to size, standard fit with a little bit of room to breathe, but not too baggy. Perfect on its own or with a t-shirt or thin shirt underneath.

Fits best as: Mid Layer, Insulating Layer, Outer Layer

A little more room than you would find in a Regular fit. Enough space to fit 1-2 layers underneath.

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

        Why Merino Wool?

        Core Spun Technology

        Core Spun yarn provides extra durability while still offering merino's properties next to the skin. The nylon inner core is wrapped with Merino Wool and a touch of spandex for stretch.

        Moisture Wicking

        Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

        Anti-Microbial

        Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

        Insulates When Wet

        Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

        UV Protection

        Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

        Renewable

        Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

        Wonderful addition

        My wife complained about her face being cold when we hike, so we purchased this in hopes that it would help. The weight and fit are perfect for hiking in colder weather and can be pulled up over the face or worn around the neck with equal effectiveness. It is soft and like all things at Minus 33, it is not scratchy.

        Nice product but!

        I’m happy with the product, but dismayed about the barrage of emails l’m getting. I’m less likely to go back to your site to buy again knowing I’ll be harassed.

        Perfect lightweight gaiter

        I wanted a gaiter that was lightweight, breathable, but still protected my face from the cold while biking/skiing. This fits and feels perfect. I have a midweight as well, but doesn’t work as well for biking as it causes my glasses to fog up. The lightweight half gaiter allows air to pass through instead of pushing through the top. I ordered 2 more!!
