How Does Minus33 Fit?

Our most common fit is called regular. It runs true to size and isn’t that super tight sport fit you might find with synthetic brands. It’s for the everyday person, every activity or occupation. We suggest purchasing the same size you would get in a basic cotton T-shirt or underwear.

What If I Am Between Sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up. Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Merino’s moisture-wicking properties keep you cool when you’re on the move. Core Spun yarn provides extra durability while still offering merino's super soft, insulative, and moisture wicking properties next to the skin. Nylon inner core offers strength, elasticity, resiliency, and durability. Merino Wool outer sheath provides insulation, moisture wicking, and UV protection.

Why Merino Wool?

Core Spun Technology

Core Spun yarn provides extra durability while still offering merino's properties next to the skin. The nylon inner core is wrapped with Merino Wool and a touch of spandex for stretch.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

Even after frequent laundering they retain an 'as new' appearance. They won't shrink, lose their shape, fade or color-bleed. They remain soft and comfortable for the life of the garment.

Wow! Awesome

I bought 2 of thhese while on the Appalachiantrail last spring. Weather was colder than I expected. I love, love, loved them! So much so that at the end of our trip I went back to the same store (200 miles out of our way) to buy one more and see what other treasures they were hiding! The v-neck is so flattering. Often the V-neck on garments is too big, not flattering, shows too much and causes the garment to shift, and really it’s a base layer. This V was perfect. I often wear it as a top under a blazer or alone with dressier clothes. I almost never wear it that I don’t get a compliment. And they have worn like steel. More colors please! Rich Olive green!! Pretty please with a cherry on top!

Like the fit but it’s not 100% merino wool

Fabulous!

I am a big fan on this fabric with the tank top as a base layer in summer for hiking to absorb sweat without being smelly under a wicking tshirt.

This wool tshirt is new to me and more fitted than the tank top but equally soft fabric that feels great against my skin while still feeling cool and breathable.

It might seem counterintuitive to layer in summer but if you sweat a lot in the heat while hiking, this layer soaks it all in to cool you off.

Love the feel of Minus33 lightweight tops and they have been fanstic for summer hiking for me!
